I can't believe it has been a week since I last posted. It has been a busy week for us, primarily due to Eleanor's surgery last Friday. She got a tube in her ear to drain the fluid that tormented *all* of us this past winter! What we did not realize, or at least did not recognize the magnitude of, was the hearing loss due to the fluid build-up. Since last Friday, a mere five days, she is already showing great improvement in her verbal skills. Quite amazing for a child with already incredible verbal skills. Since the surgery, she is much more articulate and clear and no longer requires translation by Mom. Even her teachers noticed a difference at school today. We are so proud of her! And, not to mention, she was a pro at the hospital. She did not shed a tear, complain or fear anything. Mommy cried more than she did!
As for Mary Larkin, she is officially mobile. She crawls now with consistency. She looks for me if I am not in the room with her. I love seeing her round the corner to come find me in the kitchen when I am making dinner. She can also pull herself to a stand (see pictures below). I can't believe how fast she is growing up.
