Potty Training Setback

Eleanor is a stinker. Literally. I was cleaning the lunch dishes. She was in the playroom. She called me into the playroom, "Mom, I have a stinky meatball!" (Oh, geez, not another accident!) I go in to the playroom and she is naked, pointing to the couch. On the couch there is a perfect (and large!) piece of poop sitting there. It's not squished or mashed. It looks as though she squatted on the couch, did the deed, and then jumped down to the ground to call for me.

AAAAHHHHHHH.....

Eleanor's First Day of School

Well, Eleanor started "school" yesterday. I don't know if I should feel badly or not that she enjoys school so much so that she is very, very reluctant to leave at the end of the day. In addition, in the mornings when I drop her off, it's "Bye, Mom" without turning around to look at me. She just runs right in. Mary Larkin will start in a month. I hope she likes it as much.

In other news, I had my first day of school! It was just professional development and not actually in my library or my school, but it felt great to be back in action.

Dueling Doorstops

Potty Training Update

There have been several requests for an update on Eleanor's potty training. I suppose this is due to the desperation I was exuding several weeks ago. In any event, I am beyond happy to report that Eleanor is doing great! She is doing SO GREAT that I don't even put her in pull ups at night. Watch, tonight will be the night she wets in the bed. In any event, she rarely has any tinkle accidents and poop accidents are about 50% of the time. Most of the time she just said, "Mom, I have to make smelly meatballs!!" Go Elle Belle!

Molly is going to be a bride soon

I was in Virginia this past week/weekend to throw Molly a bridal shower. It was a beautiful, wonderful party hosted by our dear friend Amber. We had a great crowd with Molly's high school, college and nursing friends plus many, many family members. I can't wait for the wedding--October 4. Eleanor will be a flower girl so stay tuned for many cute pictures. Her get-up for the big event is adorable!!!

Cousins, Cousins, & More Cousins

Seriously, could we see the Homans enough?! Courtenay and her girls came to Chantilly for a few days and the cousins got to play. Colleen & Bridget have taught Eleanor pretend play with Barbie and Prince Eric. Too cute. Love the Homan girls....Love em!!

Visit with JMU Friends

NINE YEARS AGO I graduated from college. Unfortunately, I still feel as though I am 21, sitting on an old couch in my front yard on an unseasonably warm day in March with a Beast Light and some fun friends to make me laugh very, very hard. But, alas, it's been that long and I am that old. Luckily, my friends still keep in touch and we see one another from time to time despite being scattered all around the world. While in Virginia, The girls and I visited with Julie & Lindsay and Lindsay's cute, cute kids Abby and Jake. Love Jake--he's too funny.

Swinging?

When Eleanor was little (a whole month ago), we used to prohibit the use of the word SWING in our house. If you dared utter the word, a meltdown would ensue when she was told we were not going to the park. Nevertheless, there are moments when we do actually go to the park. Our trip to Virginia this past week began with a visit to the neighborhood swings with Pops. For Eleanor, life does not get much better than this; Pops + Swings=Happy Place. Now if only we could get to San Antonio again soon so Daddy Bob could join in the fun.
