Mayberry, Land of the Jogging Stroller

We ran the Longmeddowe (aka Longmeadow) Days 5k this morning. We blew the competition away....not quite, but not a poor showing for two thirtysomethings, one with a jog stroller and the other 10 months postpartum. After the race, we enjoyed a pancake breakfast in the Community House and then a parade with students from the various schools in town and their families. The highlight of the parade was when the children in the parade threw candy to the onlookers and then scrambled to pick up the candy for themselves. The teachers kept saying, "Guys, throw them to the people watching the parade! Don't take it!" The Longmeadow Montessori children were transported via double decker bus. Another cute highlight especially because one student we know was yelling from the top level, "Hi Eleanor!".

Eleanor rarely poses for the camera so I felt the need to post these pictures. After I loaded them to my computer and was looking through them, I realized that she is a little kid now. She looks so much older in these pictures. What is even crazier is that Mary Larkin is the age Eleanor was when we moved to Longmeadow. Time is flying. I don't like it.

Team Mannion Comes to Visit!

We had a *fabulous* time with Uncle John, Miss Rebecca and Abby G.  Abby G.  is so, so adorable and loved hanging out with the girls listening to them squawk, giggle and just make a a lot of commotion.  Eleanor was very happy to test her soccer skills with soccer superstar John.  

Luckily the weather held out for our visit.  John & Rebecca served as my gardening consultants and helped me get some basil and tomato plants going.  I am not much of a green thumb so the help was greatly appreciated.
