Happy Sixth Birthday to my Elle, Ellie, Elle-belle, Eleanor

All three girls are down with strep for Eleanor's sixth birthday.  I fear I am next. Not really how we wanted to spend Elle's birthday but alas, we're still managing to watch tons of Barbie movies and eat Barbie ice cream cake....just not shared with friends.

And on that note, I am copying a little note Aunt Court posted on Facebook today.  I ditto her sentiments times one million.

"Happy Birthday to our best girl, Eleanor! You are the smartest, wittiest, funniest, happiest, bravest, most beautiful girl EVER! The world became a better place the day you were born!

One More Week to Go....

Bags packed?  Check.
Itinerary set?  Pretty much.
Dining reservations at Disneyland settled?  Check.

We are all ready.  And anxious.  Gar and I can't believe how quickly, and yet not, this day arrived.  Eleanor seems to be handling it just fine.  If I talk about the surgery with her, she gets upset with me and says, "Mom, remember, Dr. Brent said when I was ready."  But then I hear her telling friends all about it, how we're going to San Diego and Disneyland first to get her "warmed up." And so begins the mother-daughter battle, I suppose.  Yes, you know the one.  Where they get irritated by you and won't talk to you?

Until then, we are soaking up our last few weeks of soccer before we leave and return to gray and winter.  Luckily we have a ton of other extracurriculars to keep us busy despite the lousy midwest winters.

While Eleanor and Mary Larkin are busy playing soccer, Ginger is busy being a goofball.

See those cute new pink shoes?  Yeah, she threw one out the window as we were driving home.
Stinker.

Nothing like some sister love.

Or some Daddy love.

Well, that's what we've been doing.  I'll post on Friday because Eleanor is turning SIX.
We're having a little Barbie-themed 'almost sleepover' complete with Barbie movie, Barbie ice cream cake, popcorn and her favorite Giada mushroom pasta recipe.

Pictures to follow.....
