Santa doesn't shop at the Gap

Flann: Oh, Elle, you look so pretty in your headband!  Remember, Santa got that for you?
Elle: (laughing like the mature old woman she is, shaking her head at her silly mother) Mom, no, we got this at the Gap.  Santa doesn't shop at the Gap.

Um, for the record, Santa did get this for her after observing her admiring it at the Gap.  So not only does she think I am stupid, but her photographic brain remembers where she saw it a year ago.  Seriously?  Not my genes.  As her babysitter says, that kid soaks in every single thing she sees and hears.

And here she is tonight.....

.....on her "white" bed next to ours.  We set this up because we don't let her in the bed with us at night.  So if she comes in in the middle of the night, this is where she can go.  Tonight, however, she started out in here unbeknownst to us.

So maybe she was just lonely?

This is where I found Mary Larkin when I went to check on her tonight. We'd been having some trouble getting her to go to sleep the last few days. Thought maybe the Halloween candy was keeping her up but maybe she just needed to sleep with her sis?  And for the record, she did start out in jammies but is now naked.  It's November.  I swear these two are heat rocks.

Another blog to add to my blogroll....

Aunt Courtenay and I have started another blog to talk about our sewing and crafting. You interested? Follow us on Three Sisters.

We're going to be big sisters....did ya hear?

Farm Stuff

It is nearing the end of our farm season which means we can no longer pick our goods up at the Springfield Farmers Market. We now have to drive up to Red Fire Farm in Granby, MA to bag our brussels sprouts, shallots, bok choy, kale, etc. We're always up for the adventure, however, and I am convinced that this experience has made the girls more inclined to try different foods. In fact, Eleanor tried and loved the roasted brussels sprouts (olive oil, salt, pepper, @ 420 deg. 20-30 min.)!

We were hoping for animals on our visit to Red Fire. The owners of the farm thought we might be disappointed with "just" roosters. Au contraire! We loved the roosters particularly when they cock-a-doodle-doo'ed us!

And last, a cowgirl dress inspired by our farm visits. I am furiously sewing dresses to sell at Aunt Courtenay's craft shows. It might be my favorite so far.....
