A Perfect Spring Saturday in Chicago

We had the most *perfect* Saturday afternoon yesterday with my friend Ann.  The only thing missing was the sun, Gar Gar and Ann's husband Mike.

We took the girls to a grilling festival downtown.  We parked by the zoo and made our way to the festival via the Nature Boardwalk.

I always love getting shots with downtown in the background.

The festival entailed sampling beer & gourmet food from local restaurants.  The girls got to decorate their own aprons and plant tomato seeds. In Ina's words, how bad can that be?

Chicago has tons and tons of street festivals all summer long similar to this.  I can tell it's going to be a good summer.

After the festival, we headed down to the lake for a walk and to dip our toes in.

Eleanor brought her scooter.

Here's Ginger exercising her new walking skills at the base of the skyline.

Headed towards the lake.

And back towards the city.  Don't you love that there is a beach at the base of the city?  I love that.

Ann, did you sign your blogger waiver allowing me to blog you?  Oops.

It was, the most perfect day.
