Surgery Day! California Part III

We arrived in Northern California Sunday night.  Monday afternoon we had our pre-op visit with Dr. Brent.  Eleanor was pretty nervous, but he is wonderful and did a great job of allaying her fears.  He is very, very good with children.

Here she is in his Woodside, CA office.  It is just beautiful there--lots of evergreens with a few palm trees mixed in.

Later on Monday night, Dr. Emmy, my cousin came to visit with us.  We've been so lucky this trip to see lots of family and friends.  Emmy is an OB-GYN here in the Silicon Valley and lives only 10 minutes from our hotel!

Eleanor was wearing her Belding Bulldogs shirt.  A future post on this.....

And here she is this morning before she got the meds to make her loopy.  She was so brave.  She declared today an "exciting day."

She took lovey, puppy, Dumbo (courtesy of her teacher Ms. Kendall from the Longmeadow JCC last year) and Lulu (courtesy of Aunt Court a few years back).  They are back there right now keeping her company.

And here is our amazing surgeon, Dr. Brent.  He is holding up the stencil he made of her big ear yesterday at her pre-op appt.  He wanted her to know that he didn't forget to bring it.  He really is awesome.  He's done 1,970 ears.  Can you blame us for feeling confident in his ability?!

I can't wait to see her new ear.  But in the meantime, I just can't wait to see her.
